PURPOSE

Energy meter is designed for multi-rate commercial or technical accounting of active energy irrespective of its direction (in modulus) and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction in single-phase two-wire AC networks.

Energy meter maintains two arrays of load power profile data: basic four-channel and extended ones (number of parameters: up to 16).

Energy meter may be used both in standalone mode and as part of automated measuring and information systems for electric power fiscal accounting (AMIS EPFA).

  • Communication between energy meter and remote terminal is effected via a radio interface.

FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES

Energy pricing and accounting

Energy meter is designed for multi-rate accounting of active and reactive energy according to four time of day rates (?1-?4), four types of day (working days, Saturday, Sunday and holidays) and twelve seasons. A season means a calendar month starting on its respective first day.
Discrete value for the time of day rate comes up to 10 minutes. Time of day rates sequence is limited by the number of 10-minute intervals in a day totaling up to 144 intervals.
Energy meter rater uses a rate card, an overview of holidays and a list of rescheduled days. The list of rescheduled days allows to change the rate classification according to types of day available without amending the rate card itself (e.g., Saturday, which should be rated as a working day).
Energy meter maintains archives of data on rated energy measured and non-rated accounts of the number of impulses coming from the external sensor through the digital input:

  • total reckoning from the reset (running total);
  • for the current and previous day;
  • at the beginning of the current and previous day;
  • for the current and twelve previous months;
  • at the beginning of the current and twelve previous months;
  • for the current and previous year;
  • at the beginning of the current and previous year.

Load power profile

Energy meter maintains a basic four-channel load power profile array with the programmable integration time from 1 to 60 minutes for active power (irrespective of the direction), network voltage, reactive power of the forward direction and reactive power of the reverse direction.

Parameters profiles
Energy meter maintains an independent extended parameters profile array with the programmable integration time from 1 to 60 minutes:

  • number of (any) profiled parameters - up to 16;
  • retention time for (any ) four parameters comes up to 248 days if the integration time is 30 minutes and 341 days if the integration time is 60 minutes.

Extended parameters profile array may be configured with regard to selection of number and type of profiled parameters along with the data retention format.

Determination of network parameters and energy quality indices

Energy meter determines instantaneous values of physical parameters characteristic for a single-phase network with the averaging time of 1s and may be used as an instrument for measuring of:

  • active and reactive power;
  • full power;
  • network and built-in battery voltage;
  • current;
  • active power factor;
  • network frequency;
  • current date and time;
  • temperature inside the energy meter.

All measurable network parameters are available through communication interfaces and may be viewed on the energy meter screen in the accessory parameters display mode.
Energy meter may be used as an instrument for determination of energy quality indices by applying parameters of steady-state network frequency deviation, steady-state voltage deviation and voltage and overvoltage dips.
Energy meter allows for load control via a respective built-in relay and load control signal generation at the configurable test output according to various programmable criteria. Energy meter with the load control function may operate in the:

  • mode of load power limiting;
  • mode of energy limiting for a certain day;
  • mode of energy limiting for a certain accounting period;
  • mode of network voltage control;
  • mode of energy meter temperature control;
  • mode of scheduled load control.

The specified modes may be allowed or prohibited depending on any specific combination. Irrespective of any allowable modes, load control and load control signal generation is effected on an interface command of the operator.

Test output

Energy meter has an operational insulated test output, which may be configured for generation of:

  • signal indicating crossing of the programmable active power limit;
  • remote metering impulses of one of the energy accounting channels (active, reactive, forward and reverse direction);
  • load control signal corresponding to programmable criteria;
  • remote control signals;
  • clock accuracy control signal.

Digital input

Energy meter has an insulated digital input, which may be configured:

  • for calibration mode control;
  • for calculation of the running total of impulses coming from external devices (leading, trailing or both edges);
  • as a remote signal system input.

Energy meter logs

Energy meter maintains event logs, energy quality indices logs, power limit crossing log and status data log.

Display unit

Energy meters intended for indoor installation are equipped with a display unit (DU) based on a liquid crystal display (LCD) for representation of energy measured and measurable parameters and a button for display modes control.
Energy measured and measurable parameters of energy meters intended for outdoor installation should be represented through the ?-1.01 terminal connected to the energy meter via a radio channel, established by a built-in radio modem. Energy meter terminal is equipped with the same liquid crystal display (LCD) for representation of energy measured and measurable parameters and a button for display modes control as the energy meters intended for indoor installation.
Basic parameters display mode ensures representation of the following energy values on the energy meter display:

  • running total for current active and reactive energy (total reckoning from the reset) according to current rate and direction;
  • active energy measured in modulus and running total for reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction (total reckoning from the reset) for each rate and on an aggregate basis;
  • active energy measured in modulus and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction for the current and 12 previous months for each rate and on an aggregate basis.

Accessory parameters display mode ensures representation of instantaneous values of the following physical parameters on the energy meter display:

  • active, reactive and full power;
  • network and built-in battery voltage;
  • current;
  • power factor;
  • network frequency;
  • current date and time;
  • temperature inside the energy meter;
  • energy meter software version and checksum of the metrologically relevant software part.

Communication interfaces

Depending on the design variant the energy meter has at least two independent equal priority communication interfaces from the following list: RS-485, PLC, RF

Electronic seals and magnetic field sensor
Energy meters are equipped with two energy-independent electronic seals:

  • for the energy meter housing cover;
  • for the terminal box cover.

Electronic seals allow to determine opening / resealing time for the respective cover and generate an entry in the event log. Electronic seals may operate both when the energy meter power is on and off.
Energy meters are equipped with a magnetic field sensor intended to detect the effect of a magnetic field with the increased strength of 2 0.7 mT (density 1600 600 ?/m) and above.
