PURPOSE

Energy meters are designed for accounting of active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction in three- and four-wire AC networks with the rated frequency of 50 Hz.
Energy meters may be used both in standalone mode and as part of automated measuring and information systems for electric power fiscal accounting (AMIS EPFA).

TECHNICAL FEATURES

  • Non-volatile RAM.
  • Built-in microcontroller.
  • Backlit liquid crystal display (LCD).
  • Communication interfaces – RS-485, 2 x RS-485 and (or) optical port.
  • Additional interface modules – GSM, PLC, Ethernet, radio modem (ZigBee equivalent).
  • Two pulsed (remote control system) outputs.
  • Current transformers are used as current sensors.
  • Precise built-in real-time clock (min. accuracy 0.4 s/day).
  • Two electronic seals (for determination of terminal box cover and energy meter housing cover opening time).
  • Load control function (built-in three-phase relay with status control or signal).

FUNCTIONAL CAPABILITIES

Energy meters provide the capability to record, store and read out the following values using an interface:

  • running total of active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction measured according to rates available from the date of manufacture; 
  • active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction measured at the beginning of each month according to rates available over a one-year period;
  • active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction measured at the beginning of each day according to rates available over a 125-day period;
  • active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction measured for each half-hour over a 125-day period.

Energy meters provide the capability to write rate cards, current time, weekday, date, month, year, energy and power limits, consumer category.
Energy meters provide the capability to generate and maintain the event log, where time of occurrence and time of completion of the following events are being recorded:

  • de-energizing and re-energizing; 
  • load break switch tripping and its cause;  
  • load activation;
  • rate card reprogramming;
  • change of maximum power value in case of limiting energy consumption;
  • maximum power value at the moment of tripping command generation; 
  • status data on malfunctions and errors in operation of energy meter main components;
  • date and time of terminal box cover opening and resealing;
  • date and time of energy meter housing cover opening and resealing;
  • date and time prior to and upon the time adjustment.

Energy meter load control is effected via a built-in relay or signal which is triggered or sent:

  • on an external command;
  • when the preset limits of power network parameters are exceeded;
  • when the energy consumption limit is exceeded;
  • when there is an unauthorized access attempt.

Load tripping delay is assigned by using the software tools available.
Liquid crystal display (LCD) ensures cyclic representation of the following data:

  • accumulated active and reactive energy of the forward and reverse direction according to rates available and on an aggregate basis   
  • accumulated active and reactive energy in modulus irrespective of direction according to rates available and on an aggregate basis;
  • date and time;
  • effective voltage value for each of three phases;
  • effective current value for each of three phases;
  • frequency;
  • current temperature value (for reference only);
  • current active power value of the forward and reverse direction for each of three phases and on an aggregate basis; 
  • current reactive power value of the forward and reverse direction for each of three phases and on an aggregate basis;
  • current full power value of the forward and reverse direction for each of three phases and on an aggregate basis;
  • cos φ (for reference only);
  • tg φ (for reference only);
  • effective rate;
  • built-in battery status;
  • built-in modems status;  
  • load control relay status.
